CHICAGO, IL (July 11, 2023) — The Planet Group, a leading provider of outsourced human capital and consulting solutions, announced today that Russ Whitman has been promoted to Chief Strategy Officer. Previously, Whitman served as Executive Vice President of Strategy for Launch Consulting, an AI-first digital transformation firm that Planet acquired in June of 2022. Whitman has been with Launch since early 2020 and has been instrumental in helping drive the strategy behind Launch’s global growth through cutting-edge AI, data, cloud, cybersecurity, software, technology advisory and management consulting services.
In this newly created role, Whitman will lead Planet’s go-to-market strategy for the company and its global consulting and staffing divisions. He’ll also oversee several related corporate support functions and work closely with the executive team on the vision of the organization’s AI strategy. He has over 25 years of experience in digital product development, business and marketing and has successfully grown several AI, SaaS and cloud-based technology companies from startups to multi-million-dollar entities.
