CHICAGO, IL (November 29, 2021) — The Planet Group, a portfolio company of Odyssey Investment Partners and a leading provider of outsourced human capital, advisory, and consulting services for the Technology, Diversified Energy, Healthcare, and Professional Services sectors, announced today that Jonathan Whiley has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer. Whiley joins the company with more than 20 years of progressive technology and operations experience.
Pete Byer, who previously held the role, will move into a similar position with ProPharma Group, the leading global provider of outsourced regulatory, clinical research, compliance, pharmacovigilance, and medical information services for the life sciences industry. The Planet Group and ProPharma Group announced their merger in May 2021.
Before joining The Planet Group, Whiley was Executive Vice President and CTO of Majestic Steel USA where he drove innovative thinking to grow revenue, reduce costs, and increase profitability by leading supply chain and operational technology solutions. Previously, he served in a variety of senior management roles at Network Services Company and Arkadin.

A veteran of the US Marine Corps and graduate of Ohio University, Whiley serves as a Governing Body Member of Evanta’s Midwest CIO group and is also involved with the Northeast Ohio chapter of SIM.
